Everything About WORX WG779
Boasting a sleek, 14-40V lawn mower with similarly-minded technology and optional mulching capabilities, this gadget is loaded with innovative features and does not underdeliver when it comes to power. Comprised of two 20V 4.0Ah batteries with 40V operating power, this lawn mower offers double the runtime and double the efficiency. Our patented torque tech enables you to control the quality of traction when you’re in thicker grass, and you may then decrease it to preserve battery power when the terrain gets easier to care for. It’s an effective yet energy-efficient lawn mower. And that’s merely where our benefits for the homeowner begin. Gas-powered mowers are messy, costly, and can upset the whole block. Worx battery-powered machines are impeccably clean for both people and the atmosphere, compared to used in gas mowers, which likewise reduce the risk of pollution in addition to operating costs. They are straightforward to operate and start with a push of a button, instead of the corded pull of a traditional mower. This 29.5-pound mower is noiseless. Small, quiet, light, and easy to use!
First of all, when I bought it, I didn’t realize it would be so small, even though it says the size clearly on Amazon. I added a pic of it next to my Toyota minivan to help people see the size. Pros and cons:Con: small size means you have to do a lot more walking to mow the lawn. Another con: because it is small, it looks a bit like a toy. (Not a toy, it has a fast moving metal blade). Pros: small size means it is very light. Easy to carry around. Easy to push. So even though you have to do a lot more walking, you can walk fast. It is so light, even grandma could easily do it. Another pro: easy to start. Because it is electric, you just push a button and a lever. No trying to pull a chain attached to a the engine. So many times with other mowers, I would pull with all my might, and I wasn’t fast enough or tall enough to start it. This one is so easy. So if you need to move something out of the way, just turn it off, move the item, and quickly turn it on again. Another pro: it is quiet. I live in a place that can get 120 degrees in the summer. I want to mow the lawn at 6 am, and it is quiet enough that I can do that without bothering the neighbors. Another pro, very easy to store. Another pro: two big rechargeable batteries. The batteries last long enough for me to mow the back and front without recharging(on eco mode). My yards are small, but not super small. Another pro: smallness means easy to maneuver. I have a swing set in the grass. I just trim a little around each pole quickly, and then mow around each pole. Fast, light and easy. Another pro: no gas required. No going to the gas station, or running out, no dealing with engines, or oil. Another pro: no electric cord. You don’t need to worry about running over a chord when you mow. Another pro, because it has no gas, no chords, and it is light, it is fast. Start to finish I can mow both yards in about 30 minutes. I actually love mowing the lawn now!! Last pro: it does a good job cutting my grass. There is a real metal blade that spins fast. This is a real mower, same safety precautions necessary. If you want a small quiet mower, this is it! I love it. If you are not super strong physically, and/or you have a smallish yard, this is great. If you have a big yard, You might want something else. Some reviews say that the batteries don’t last long enough. If you make sure they are fully charged, inserted correctly in the mower, and the mower is set on eco mode, the batteries last at least 45 minutes. If you put the mower on turbo mode, it doesn’t last long. Eco mode is strong enough for most yards. Also, the mower comes with the mulcher attachment already installed. If you want to use the bag, you must take out the mulcher first. Otherwise it may seem like the mower is not working properly. I did that at first, until I figured it out. Once I took it out, it was fine.

Brand new mower smells like a battery fire; replacement is difficult
We’ve been using our mower for about 1-1/2 to 2 months (received it on May 1 but had to wait for weather reasons.) It smells like burning batteries and sounds awful. Amazon says my return window has ended. Worx says they’ll replace but they’re making me wait 5 days to get a return label (by email… that should take 2 seconds), I have to find a box and packing material to put it in, I have to physically haul it down to Fedex to return it, and they say they have to receive it BEFORE they’ll ship out the replacement. Meanwhile, our lawn will get too long, and turn brown underneath. I’ve been happy with WORX in the past, but not now. If I ever get the new mower, if it’s any better, maybe I’ll update this review. But for now, I’m not pleased with the way this is being handled. The rep was pleasant and friendly, but the service practices need a major overhaul.
