NOT your granny’s weed whacker!!!

I was worried this would be wimpy but NO!! It cut tall grass and all types of weeds ( see pic ).I got 20 min runtime out of the battery but I chose the option where the trimmer comes with 2 batteries which gives me 40min total and thats as long as I can go anyway! It was only 40 bucks extra and you can NOT buy another battery for that price. You can adjust the handle in literally 1 second and keep going. Changing from edger to trimmer took 2 seconds just step on the guard and twist the handle. Edges well. Wheels worked nicely. Light weight but sturdy, quiet, and no vibration. I read some people were going thru line really fast but I ran this one for 40 min thru all kinds of weeds, sticks, leaves , etc. And never advanced the line. The shaft is a little short ( and gets super short for storage or transport? ). I’m 5’6″ and I had it fully extended. If you’re really tall the newest version extends much further. I’m coming from a gas powered Stihl and was worried this would not be powerful enough to handle 2.5 acres of weeds but it does just fine and I actually ENJOY using it! My hands don’t go numb and I’m not sore and stiff from using it. I LOVE THIS THING!!!

Really tough to adjust

This thing is a bit of a beast. It’s a little heavy, but manageable for an adult. Plenty of power. The string advancing button system seems to work, but it is hard to know. There is always slightly different lengths of line showing after using it. The big issue is trying to adjust the angle of the head of the unit relative to the shaft. There is no button or mechanism available for this. The picture (no written instruction on this) shows the unit on the ground with a person stepping on the head to hold it in place while pulling up on the shaft. Uhh, not that simple. The bottom of the head in contact with the ground is about a two inch diameter circle, and the pivot point between head and shaft is very, very tight. So, when you pull up on the shaft while stepping on the unit, the whole unit just pivots up towards you under your foot instead of clicking into a new position. My wife likes to weed wack, but this issue has turned her against this machine. For her, the head angle is not adjustable. Hard to explain, but beware.
