Fantastic edger
I bought this from amazon to replace a Black and Decker corded edger [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00004DTNH] which I also bought on amazon many years ago. My main complaint with the Black and Decker was having to drag around a 100 foot extension cord, getting it stuck under a car tire etc. I was hopeful this Dewalt would have enough power to do the job cordlessly.I don’t know if the Black and Decker edger was just garbage or if this Dewalt is the greatest edger of all time, but using the old one, I would be a sweaty mess when I was done. Every 2 feet I would be pushing super hard to get through the cut up grass and weeds, I’d back up and go forward again. Great forearm workout, but a huge pain. This Dewalt edger (on high because why not) literally pulls me down the driveway and chops through everything in its path with no effort on my part at all. I pull the trigger it edges. I’m done in less than 10 minutes where it used to take me easy 20-30. Using a 9Ah battery, I still have 3 bars when I’m done with the driveway and sidewalk. By contrast, the 60v Dewalt leaf blower is down to 2 or 1 bar over the same area.Highly recommended.

Huge Piece of Junk
Received this purchase today and just finished using it. This unit didn’t last more than 10min before the safety guard broke off (see photo). In addition, it went through an entire fully charged 60V battery in that same 10min. Put in a second fully charged battery and that lasted < 5min. To run through 2 fully charged batteries in 15min is not acceptable. It was super powerful for a few minutes and then lost all of its power and kept stopping. Basically, I found this tool totally useless. I have about a dozen electric Dewalt tools and this is the first one that has been terrible. Not sure if my unit is defective or if this design is flawed. Either way, stay away from this product.
