Update 11-23: Called their support staff. Turns out the battery has to be inserted until you hear two clicks, otherwise the connection isn’t good and the mower will stop after a few seconds. They said its not intuitive, but I still feel like an idiot. I inserted the battery and it turned off, but then I gave it a firm shove again and heard a loud CLICK and it worked from then on. Lesson learned. So the lawnmower was delivered. I opened the box, read the directions and put it together. I should have tested it first, but I didn’t and threw away the packaging. After putting it together I put it in my garage until I was ready to use it. Fast forward to this weekend. I charged the battery and inserted it into the lawn mower. I get ready to cut my grass for the very first time with this lawn mower and… it doesn’t work.

Nice machine

Took 10 minutes to put together. My backyard 700 SF of Marathon and in some areas it had one foot tall clumps of grass. Had not been mowed in months.Mowed at high level setting two passes and then mowed again at second lowest level and just finished just as the battery went dead but we gave this mower a task on the first mow so overall pleased. I would say I got 20-25 minutes of motor time on the battery.Had to empty basket twice but the grass was pretty tall. Basket holds 10 minutes of cutting.Mower never turned off but did slow down going thru one foot tall grass clumps so I can get two mows out of a battery under normal lawn maintenance. Good size battery and slips right in and out of orifice in seconds.I would say if your lawn is 1000-1200 SF and normal height you should be able to finish on one battery charge at level 2 or 3. If not battery charges in an hour or two.Pretty powerful machine for electric. Battery is 40 volts so over 1500 SF lawn you might want to consider a 54 volt machine or two batteries for this machine but overall this mower should fit your bill for average size lawns. $270 well worth the purchase plus only $12 for extended 3 year warranty but does not cover battery of course.Battery is large so probably half the cost of the mower for second battery.I would recommend this mower.

Expected more for the price paid….and the battery is MEH!

Easy to assemble, does a great job actually cutting the grass, fairly quiet and light enough that my wife has starting cutting the grass!Negatives are:- Don’t expect to get 70 minutes from the 4 batteries. We have averaged 50 minutes. And that is being very careful when using the self propel feature. I got frustrated as I need about 60 minutes to cut my yard and expected the 4 batteries to get the job done.- I ended up purchasing 2 more 24V batteries from a knock off competitor that were half the price of the Greenworks…..- Greenworks Customer Support needs a serious overhaul. I had some questions about how the mower operates that were not covered in the manual or on their website. Multiple emails & phone calls were never answered. Complete waste of time.Overall this is a good mower but for the price that I paid….I expected more.
