My 23-year-old B&D shredder/blower blew a hole in its side just at fall leaf removal time. After extensive research, I bought this one and have been well rewarded for my choice. It’s not light, but it is well balanced. The re-usable bag is well supported, so I barely used the strap. The specs say that this shreds leaves so they fit in 1/16 of the number of leaf bags. I don’t have a big yard and can’t vouch for the 1/16 ratio, but it was remarkably efficient. While the unit itself isn’t really loud, the leaves and yard debris shooting through the wand and being ground by the shredder are loud. The zipper on the bag is easy to open, and emptying the bag into one of the monster yard waste bags was pretty easy, much more so than my prior shredder.

It should be noted that it does a great job with leaves

I have a small yard, but my neighbors have a huge live oak tree. This vacuum delivered as promised in removing them.It should be noted that it does a great job with leaves, but does not like acorns or twigs at all – twigs will clog the vacuum tube (easily fixed by power off, and shaking everthing out of the tube). While it is true that it works with wet leaves, if you do so, you will likely need to remove the vacuum tube and clean out the blower assembly frequently, the wet leaves get mulched and turn basically into mud that will fill up the housing and and stop the suction. I kept a large screwdriver handy to clean this mud-like mess. Remember to unplug the power cord before messing with the fan blade.It takes a bit of practice to get used to this vacuum. You have to learn to let the vacuum determine the pace. If you try to vacuum too much too fast, the the vacuum tube will get clogged.With all that said, I was impressed with the ease of removing the leaves, and with mulching it reduced my usual 10 bags of leaves to 5.I would definitely recommend.

Piece of garbage

This is the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever gotten!! First of all, the assembly instructions are a joke: parts are labeled with numbers but then the numbers are never referenced again in the directions and the pictures detailing what goes where are vague to say the least!As aggravating as that was, I was still excited to use the product. Until I took It outside! It could barely suck up one leaf let alone the pile of leaves; it got clogged immediately and I took Off the attachment to clean it out. I thoight Maybe I should Try angling it and trying to move slower…nope! I could Take my leaves faster!!! Then, to top it off, the disposable bag that came with it, ripped off the carrying strap mid-use.DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY (or your time)!!!Do not be fooled by the positive reviews!!
