Yeah yeah, the cord thing SEEMS inconvenient at first. But once you figure out a pattern to cut lawn, where the cord is pulled further and further out, it is only very mildly annoying. And furthermore, it is only annoying because it is ‘different’ than a gas power. Ya do start feeling like you ‘outsmarted’ the cord, and it becomes a part of the job. Now, I no longer need to keep gasoline on hand, run out of gas, add a 1/2 hour trip for filling gas can, change the oil, or wonder if the thing is gonna start. Plus, I do not have to listen to the roar of a gasoline one and neither do my neighbors. It is much more lightweight – you can easily push with one hand. I HANG IT ON THE WALL to store it in the shed, folded and taking less space. I got the 100 ft cord.

Works Great for a Corded Electric Mower

I’ve owned a several of these Black and Decker corded electric mowers over the last 20 years. They typically last about 2 to 3 years before the motor gives out, which is OK because they are much cheaper than the gasoline mowers and require much less maintenance, such as oil changes, cleaning air filters and keeping new/clean gasoline in it. The only maintenance is oiling the wheels and sharpening the blade, and cleaning off the grass that accumulates under the mower once in a while. It is much light to push across the lawn than the gasoline mowers, and comes equipped with large diameter rear wheels to make it easier to push and maneuver. You just have to get used to keeping the electric cord out of the way, which you do by mowing away from where you plugged in the cord so the cord is always behind you.

Poor Quality/Poor Product Support.

I bought the B&D MM2000 13-Amp Corded Mower it in June 2017, it died yesterday, April 24, 2018 after less than a year of light use. (Small yard, frequent mowing so nothing too challenging for the motor. This shouldn’t have happened, IMO.)I spent over an hour on the phone yesterday, mostly waiting to be connected to a service rep. with no resolution. I called back again this morning, waited and waited again. Finally spoke to a rep, who referred me to a fairly local but not really nearby B&D repair center. The lady I spoke with there was disinterested and rude, and told me that my dead mower will be in house for “three weeks before it gets to the repair bench.” Because, “it’s lawnmower season”. I will have to wait 3++ weeks just to see if it can be repaired, and they don’t have loaners. So my grass is growing and growing and no lawn mower. It doesn’t look like Amazon can help me, either.My best advice to you is this: Don’t buy Black & Decker. It’s just not made to last, and the product support is all-around very poor.
