Easy to assemble
Just what I always wanted. This leaf blower is fairly light weight … at least it is well balanced. It has 6 different speeds from 1 – really low to 6 – high. The soft start is fabulous giving you time to aim the blower without blowing the leaves you just got into a pile all over the place. I’ve used it a number of times now and only had to recharge the battery once so far … though I don’t use it on high speed (6) much. There is a strap that I tried to use but that got in the way. Why did it take so long for the people who developed leaf blowers to come up with a lower variable speed unit. We don’t all need or want hurricane strength blowers.

Great Leaf Blower

This is the second leaf blower I ordered on Amazon. Returned the first one because it did not blow strong enough. This one has plenty of power and force. The unit is light weight and manuverable. I like the adjustable 9 speeds for vaious jobs. It comes with battery, charger and shoulder strap.I highly recommend this blower.

Positives and Negatives

I’m writing this review with other reviews in mind, so I hope this touches on everything you need to consider.Disclosure: (1) This is the 2nd hand blower I’ve tried, the first being the orange Black & Decker with the “power boost” button. (2) My primary use is to clear tennis courts of leaves and pine needles, and clear my driveway and hardscape of leaves.POSITIVES:* The “column” of air is much bigger than what I was used to; thus, surfaces tend to be cleared faster. This saves me lots of time.* The two sections of air conduit (tubes) snap on/off very easily.* There is a continuous-turn dial that can be used to ratchet the airspeed up and down. I use this toward the high end almost 100% of the time. I like this feature.* The battery (21V 5.0Ah) has a very handy charge level indicator that is activated by pushing a button in plain view. No more guessing as to how much charge is left.NEUTRAL:* This blower is on the heavy side, compared to the ones I’ve used. Thus, maneuverability is not as easy for me. If you’re a big and/or strong person, it should be no problem.* As indicated by others, the angle of the nozzle tends to push the far end down on the higher velocity setting. Personally, it wasn’t a big deal for me, as I trained myself to get used to it after a few times.* The unit is activated by a “trigger,” as part of a handle that acts much like a pistol grip. This is not as comfortable as, say, the B&D model, which is activated on top by one’s thumb with a more natural hand position. Maybe you’ll like this, maybe not. In my case, my wrist gets tired after 15 minutes.* The air speed dial is too far from the trigger for me to reach it with the same hand. Thus, I have to use my other hand to turn the dial while the air flow is on. If you have big hands, you should be able to work everything with one hand, but I can’t.* To the side of the grip there’s a button that can be engaged to keep the trigger pressed (blower running) no matter where it is held. I don’t happen to like this, but you might. See below for issues.ANNOYING:* My device came without a battery charger, so I had to wait for the seller to send one. The original box was neither taped nor sealed, which I found to be a little weird.* When the “trigger” is first pulled, there is a high-pitched beeping sound coming from the battery, and this continues the whole time the trigger is held. This confused me at first because I thought something was wrong. The seller said “it’s air flow.” It’s not. That beep just . . . happens, I don’t know why.* Worse yet, as others noted, it takes 5-7 seconds for the air flow to ramp up to where it is set (longer for max settings), and you don’t hear any flow for a full second or more. At first, I thought my device was broken. Take your finger off the trigger, and it stops immediately. This turns into wasted time if one is trying to clear multiple smaller surfaces by stopping and starting.* This blower is definitely louder than my B&D blower.* Referring to the previous section, the side button can be pressed to keep the device on (continuous blowing). The problem I had is that I sometimes inadvertently activated it when I meant instead to turn the flow off, but I need more of a stop-and-start use. It all depends on where you grip the handle, but if the air flow is cranking when you don’t want it to be on, that’s annoying.I was initially inclined to send this back (see ANNOYING above), but I decided to keep it and put up with the negatives as long as I got a powerful air flow. If the device wears out early, I’ll just consider the price as tuition for learning not to buy this again. So far, it’s okay.
